Who is Rebecca Wisocky?
American actress Rebecca Wisocky was born in York, Pennsylvania USA, on 12 November 1971, making Scorpio her zodiac sign. She has 79 acting credits and is perhaps known best for starring as Evelyn Powell in all 49 episodes of the popular mystery comedy series “Devious Maids”, which also starred Dania Ramirez and Ana Ortiz, and was created by Marc Cherry. It follows the lives of four Latina maids, the series aired from 2013 through 2016, and won two of its 16 award nominations.
Education and early life
Rebecca was raised in York as an only child, by her father Ron Wisocky and mother Sally; not many other details have been shared about her parents, because they prefer to be left out of media.
She began acting at quite an early age, appearing in plays performed at the community York Little Theatre. Rebecca studied at Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, and was into a number of activities during her time there, mostly acting and dancing.
Upon matriculating in 1990, she enrolled at New York University’s Experimental Theatre Wing, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1994.

Rebecca’s debut TV series role was playing Stephanie in the 2000 episode “Frenemies” of the romantic comedy “Sex and the City”, and she was then cast to appear in an episode or two of the crime mystery “Law & Order”, the crime action “Third Watch”, and the crime mystery “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”.
In 2010 and 2011, she played Principal Nowack in four episodes of the romantic comedy “90210”, which starred Tristan Mack Wilds and Shenae Grimes-Beech, and was created by Jeff Judah. It follows two children as they’re trying to adapt to life in Beverly Hills, where they’ve just moved with their parents from Kansas; the series aired from 2008 through 2013 and won two of its 19 award nominations. Rebecca was then cast to appear in an episode of the fantasy mystery “True Blood”, the crime mystery “In Plain Sight”, and the crime action “Longmire”.
In 2018, she portrayed Mrs Chandler in four episodes of the crime comedy “Heathers”, which starred Grace Victoria Cox and Melanie Field, and was created by Jason Micallef. It follows an outcast student who’s planning to kill her peers; the series was nominated for a single award.
Since 2021, Rebecca’s been starring as Hetty Woodstone in the hit fantasy comedy “Ghosts”, which also stars Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, and was created by Joe Wiseman and Joe Port. It follows a young couple who’ve moved into a country house inhabited by the ghosts of its previous residents, and the series has won two of its 23 award nominations.

She and American lighting designer of Asian descent Lap Chi Chu became engaged on 5 January 2015, and exchanged vows in a small and private ceremony on 10 October of the same year; Lap’s mostly into working in theatre, and some of his most recent work has been on 2018 productions of “An Ordinary Muslim”, “Mlima’s Tale” and “Our Very Own Carlin McCullough”. Lap’s today teaching lighting at the University of California, Los Angeles’ School of Theatre, Film and Television.
There are no other men whom Rebecca’s perhaps been with, that we know about; she’s married to Lap Chi Chu as of July 2023, and doesn’t have children.
