Capcom will add three new multiplayer modes to Resident Evil 6 on Dec. 18 for the Xbox 360 version of the game, introducing Predator, Survivors and Onslaught game types to the action horror game. The three downloadable modes are initially exclusive to the Xbox 360 and will be preceded by a free update for the game.
Resident Evil 6's new Predator mode will see one player assume control of the deadly Ustanak, the "bio-organic weapon" featured in Jake Muller's campaign. The Ustanak player is tasked with slaying his human opponents who must fight to survive each round.
Survivors adds a multiplayer twist to Resident Evil 6's versus modes. When a player is killed, they'll respawn as an enemy character. Then upon slaying a human player, they'll resurrect as human. The cycle continues until the last man or team standing wins.
Both Predator and Survivors modes support up to six players.
Finally, Onslaught adds a two-player competitive mode in which players fend off waves of enemies. Chaining together kills and combos will send enemies to an opponent's screen, a gameplay conceit similar to puzzle games like Puyo Puyo and Capcom's own Puzzle Fighter.
Each multiplayer mode is priced at 320 Microsoft Points. A bundle featuring all three will cost 720 Microsoft Points.
In addition to the new multiplayer DLC, Capcom says it will release the previously announced free title update on Dec. 17. The update adds an option to adjust RE6's camera's field of view, new audio and subtitle configurations, a new No Hope difficulty option and an unlock for Ada Wong's campaign that adds an optional player-controlled co-op partner.
